A new era of competition

With the rise of services like Uber and Bolt, Taxi Stockholm faced competition in a way they had not experienced before. The collaboration was not just about creating a user-friendly app — services needed to be adjusted, and systems had to be opened up. Booking a trip is quick and easy allowing personalized touches like choosing the type of taxi, and options for extras like child seats or room for your pet. Users stay in control of costs with a fixed or metered price, and can pay with Apple Pay or Google Pay in app, via invoice through your taxi account, or directly to the driver.

Android: Supporting drivers for a better user experience

A dedicated driver solution was also created whereby each taxi is equipped with an Android tablet running the app. It features a user-friendly interface with an always-on dark mode for eye comfort and visibility, as well as large buttons for ease of use. All interactions are placed around the tablet’s edges, allowing drivers to support their hand on the edge of the device while tapping, which is especially useful when they are traveling.

 

Importantly, clear zone visualization on the map is a critical feature given Taxi Stockholm’s reliance on zone-based operations. The app provides intuitive access to essential booking information while guiding drivers to the customer or their destination, with a focus on delivering exceptional service.
