The Dutch childcare system operates under unique pressure. Demand is high, costs are significant, and strict regulations define who can work where and when. At the same time, the workforce is largely part time, making daily staffing inherently fragile. While the majority of Partou’s hundreds of thousands of shifts are planned well in advance, tens of thousands remain unfilled at certain moments. These open shifts are handled through Flexxa, where they are matched with available employees.

From manual coordination to system level reliability

Ensuring consistent quality and safety in childcare requires constant alignment between planning and real-life availability. While much of the workforce planning is prepared ahead of time, gaps and changes inevitably occur across locations. At the same time, many employees are open to working additional shifts, as long as these fit their preferences, availability, and personal circumstances.

Urgent staffing requests are communicated through a single inbox and targeted push notifications.
