Transforming app to web

MittVaccin is Sweden’s largest independent vaccination service, used by families, healthcare providers, and clinics across the country. It gives people a secure way to book appointments, access drop-in vaccination services, and keep track of vaccination history for both adults and children.

Together with Framna, MittVaccin evolved from a top-rated mobile app into a nationwide web platform. This shift made vaccination services more accessible and easier to use, while laying the foundation for integration with Sweden’s wider healthcare system.

Meeting the demands of modern healthcare

MittVaccin began by replacing old paper vaccination cards with a digital record that was safer, clearer, and easier to manage. The first step was a mobile app where people could book appointments, access drop-in clinics, and keep track of vaccinations for themselves and their families.

As the Swedish healthcare system introduced new requirements and expectations for broader accessibility, the service had to evolve again. And so, MittVaccin transitioned from app to web — an important shift that opened the platform to anyone with internet access, ensured secure digital ID login, and prepared the product for integration with national systems.

Today, MittVaccin is aligned with Sweden’s healthcare infrastructure, including 1177, the national digital health portal, and the national vaccination register. The result is a service that has grown step by step: from paper, to app, to accessible web. At each stage, it has adapted to new demands while preserving the simplicity that made it successful from the start.
